Project for the restoration of Palazzo Arcieri facades
Palazzo Arcieri is located on Lungo Tevere de'Cenci 9 at the corner with Piazza delle Cinque Scole in Rome, at the edge of the Ghetto overlooking the Tiber. The building, with residential use, has four levels, plus a basement level. The facades are composed with a neoclassical design highlighted by a differentiation of materials. From a ground floor background made with a curtain of exposed brickwork emerge in relief pilasters and cornices made of mortar, which mark vertically and horizontally the building's score. The attachment to the ground is instead protected by travertine slabs as are the first two rows of rustication that then continues on the ground floor facades and mortar corners. Following the deterioration analysis, the firm proposes the restoration work, which consists of washing, cleaning, and restoring the original facades by painting with potassium silicates.
